We can hire special employees one by one from the Plan. We have to first negotiate with them. There are three options when we do so :
- Raise the salary
- Send small gifts
- Send expensive offers
As most employers would do, I always neglect to raise their starting salary. And that is why when I read that you can get all of the special people by just sending them expensive offers, and keep the starting salary to 0.1k, I had to give it a go.
Does it work? Yes. Is it worth it? It depends.
Hire Alton Green |
I tried again. This time I raised the starting salary without any other gifts or offers. I managed to get him by giving him a starting salary 2.7k. ( 32.4k/year ) This turned out to be a better outcome for me as I usually just start another game soon after the game "ends" ( 16Y 3M )
If you are just playing this game for the first time. I wouldn't worry too much about those special people. If you do want to give it a go, save first, that way you can just go Menu > System > Title Screen > Start and load it back if you are not happy with it.
Here's a list of special people you can hire ( sorted by their first names )
- Alton Green
- Ann Nonymous
- Balsa Mick
- Clemin Tyne
- Ginela Clawson
- Gordon Ramsly
- Julia Kid ( Thanks to Hasseno for the info <3 )
- Margie Fuller
- Natalie Duvet
- Pine Appleton
- Rachel Raygun
- Snowy Hilton
Note : We know the skills of the special staff will be carried onto the next game you play if you manage to "finish" the game ( 16Y3M ).
Confirmed by shukuen that special employees' salary won't be carried over to your next game. Therefore if you have already hired some with expensive salary, don't worry. How much you will need to pay them in the next game is depended on the negotiation next time.
Does hiring them make any difference to game play?
ReplyDeleteI personally don't think they are very special. Alton Green has good stats so I usually get him. Some people want them all just as a challenge. That's about it really. :)
DeleteI wind up hiring special staff because (1) After beating the game once, I wind up expanding my stores faster than I can hire regular staff, and (2) there's no other way to fully staff large-size stores in the iOS version (I think this may be a glitch, because the game gives a message saying there's plans for hiring new staff, but if you go into plans, you can't access it). I switch them to the break room whenever I get cheaper employees, though.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I think Alton Green is the most expensive of the special employees. I've bought some employees early on in the game for $10-20k of gifts and no salary increases, which often turns out to be more economical in the long run than paying them higher salaries (in my 5th year, my annual sales are over $500k). Clemin Tyme reliably hires at about $500 and $10k of gifts, which (if hired in the early game) makes her one of my cheapest employees for the amount of jobs she's mastered.
It seems like every employee has a "sweet spot" -- some particular number they want to be paid monthly, regardless of their skills or what you paid them last game. If you don't hit that number, they will just soak up money. Keep an eye on the text at the bottom of the screen...your assistant says something like "Salary's too low!" or "low salary".
I'm not 100% sure about this, so I'm still playing around with it.
You are quite right about not being able to fully staff all 3 large size stores without the special staff. I guess it all depends on how you want to run the game really. I was happy without them, but I can see why some people prefer adding more of the special staff in.
DeleteGood luck finding the best rate for each of them. ^_^ Have fun.
